Mother’s Day is Sunday May 10. There are lots of ways to show your love of your mother. We will be doing one of our roadside clean-ups along RT 3 in Belmont. Cleaning up mother earth will certainly make your mom proud.
We will gather at Shooter’s (RT 3 Belmont just south of the Belknap Mall) for breakfast an 8:00 and the hit the road for our spring cleaning. Come on along and show your mother some love.
Wow! What a fun day. Many liberty lovers coming and going all day long. I know I only saw a part of the gathering, we were spread out all over the place. So much fun to be had!

There are great places around Lake Winnipesaukee where you can get an excellent view without a hiking to the top of a mountain.

Mark your calendar April 18, 2015! We’ll start with our regular Lakes Region Porcupines meeting at the New Hong Kong Buffet at noon and then move on to Funspot from 2:00 until 11:45!
It turns out, the founder/owner of Funspot, 84-year old Bob Lawton, is a big fan of liberty and his favorite book is Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged! When Funspot turned on their new digital sign in the 1980’s, the first message Bob put on it was “Who is John Galt?” Did you know Bob was the State Rep who sponsored the bill to put “Live Free or Die” on our license plates?
To make this day even more epic, everybody’s encouraged to wear their favorite liberty gear! Wear an FSP tshirt, an NHLA polo, a Mises bracelet, a Ron Paul hat, a gun rights tshirt, whatever you want! You’ll be surrounded by fans of liberty!

Bingo starts at 6:45pm in the building next door to Funspot. The D.A. Long Tavern, the bar inside Funspot, opens at 1pm on Saturday (only ages 21 and up can enter the Tavern and drinks must stay in the Tavern).

Mark you calendar, July 25, 2015, the Lakes Region Porcupines will be hosting a beach party at Weirs Beach in Laconia, NH.
A festival/celebration for liberty activists in New Hampshire. Activities include sunbathing, swimming, hiking, and a cook-out hosted by the Lakes Region Porcupines!
We are looking for anyone who wants to volunteer for a variety of tasks both before and during the event. We are keeping the event local to Weirs Beach, but any and all activities that anyone would like to host are more than welcome. Soon, we will release a map of the area for you to share all over social media.
Come see the beauty of the lakes region, enjoy a day at the beach, and explore the area. You’ll find that the natives are very friendly and liberty minded.
If you’re coming for the weekend, you can catch the fireworks show on Friday night at the Weirs. We’ll have info coming soon on places to stay, including rustic camping for those on a really tight budget.

It’s coming! Liberty Forum will be here soon, March 5-8, 2015. Liberty Forum is one of two annual events hosted by the Free State Project, the second is PorcFest held in June.
This year Liberty Forum moves to Manchester from its previous venue in Nashua, the event has outgrown the Crowne Plaza. The convention draws people from around the country, and beyond, to get a taste of the spirit of liberty that is sparked by the Free State Project.
As Liberty Forum has expanded and people take advantage of the opportunity to visit New Hampshire organizers have incorporated a tour to various areas of the ‘Live Free or Die’ state. The Lakes Region Porcupines will host our leg of the tour on Monday, March 2, 1:00, at a most unique and interesting venue, Funspot!
You don’t need a ticket to Liberty Forum to take part in the tour stops. Join us to see how liberty is growing in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
Some think winter is for hibernating but if you feel the need to shake off the cabin fever, a hike up Mt. Major in Alton will provide you with an awesome view of Lake Winnipesaukee.
While it is not handicap accessible, Mt Major is a fairly easy hike for a person in reasonable condition. It is a very popular hike and can be crowded on weekends and holidays. I prefer a mid-week hike to avoid the crowd.
For those coming to New Hampshire for Liberty Forum, you won’t need much equipment to hike Mt. Major. Hiking always requires proper judgement and preparation. If conditions are reasonable minimal equipment will get you to the top. The trails are well worn and snow is packed down by the stream of hikers.
The Lakes Region Porcupines meet on the third Saturday of each month. We meet at noon at the New Hong Kong Buffet in Belmont, NH.
We usually meet in the room behind the entrance. We often have a dozen folks come for the meeting and discuss a variety of liberty issues. This is an informal and casual get together.
